The Masters Tournament, the first major championship of the PGA Tour season, is scheduled for April 10-13, 2025, at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.[1]
Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion and five-time Masters winner (1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2019), could participate in the event as he plans to compete in roughly one tournament per month during 2025.[2][3]
The 49-year-old American, who captains Jupiter Links Golf Club in the TGL league, last played the 2024 Masters, missing the cut after rounds of 82 and 77.[4][5]
Woods withdrew from the 2024 U.S. Open and missed the cut at The Open Championship, limiting his major appearances that year.[6]
His career has been impacted by multiple injuries, including at least five back surgeries since 2014 and subtalar fusion surgery on his right ankle in April 2023 following a 2021 car crash.[7][8]
Woods recently competed in TGL matches in January 2025, including on January 27 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.[9]
Past champions such as Woods receive lifetime invitations to the Masters.[1]
