LSU Tigers rally from 7-0 deficit to defeat Kentucky Wildcats 17-10, clinch SEC series

LSU Tigers infielder Seth Dardar hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give his team an 11-10 lead against the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Tigers won 17-10, clinching the three-game Southeastern Conference series.[1][2]

LSU trailed 7-0 entering the bottom of the third inning. The Tigers reduced the deficit to one run before Kentucky scored three times in the fifth inning.[1]

Dardar, who entered the plate with two runners on and LSU trailing by two runs, drove the ball to right field. LSU's bullpen then prevented Kentucky from scoring further as the Tigers added six more runs.[1][2]

Dardar finished 3-for-5 with a double, the home run and four RBI.[1]

LSU improved to 19-10 overall and 4-5 in SEC play. Kentucky fell to 21-6 overall and 5-4 against conference opponents.[1][2]

"Even down 7-0, our players were confident they were going to come back in this game," LSU head coach Jay Johnson said. "I’m very proud of the way they competed; they gave their all throughout the game and earned a great victory."[1]

Dardar transferred to LSU from Columbia for the 2026 season after prior stints at Kansas State.[1][3]
